If you are not a fan of stuffing awesome food into more awesome food, this post is definitely not for you.
For the rest of you (a.k.a. America), welcome! Today your peanut butter will be served in the middle of a light fluffy roll. With a Hershey bar piece on top. Why? I don’t know. It just seemed like a good idea at the time!
You know what also seems like a good idea? Digital downtime. You know, spending time away from the phones and iPads (I love you, iPad, don’t listen to me right now) and social media. But maybe that’s just because I’m afraid of social media.
You have to believe me: when it comes to social media, I am completely incompetent. There’s something that everyone else gets about making friends online and being popular that I just…don’t. I’m not sure what it is. Maybe my ability to make friends is restricted to real life alone. You know, because then I can win them over with my fun facial expressions and quick wit. Online, I don’t stand a chance.
In some ways, being on social media is just like being in middle school, only worse. People are constantly checking to see who likes them. Er, I mean, their posts. But it’s very much the same thing. That constant reassurance is, I am firmly convinced, unhealthy. If I didn’t run a baking blog, you can be sure I would not be on social media.
But that’s probably why I suck at it. I’ve never been comfortable with it, and that must be shining through somehow. I love baking, I love writing, I love people, and I love sharing. But all the rest of it just makes me feel like the kid who didn’t get invited to the party. Deep down, I think we’re all still 10 years old.
When I was 10, I ate peanut butter on fluffy white rolls pretty much every day. I did that for years. And sometimes, feeling like a kid can be a good thing. These rolls are one of those times.
This recipe is as basic as they come. You put a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter in between two refrigerated biscuit rounds, pinch the ends together, and bake. Unless you want to press a Hershey’s chocolate piece on the top first. I had to. I like a little chocolate with my peanut butter!
This is basically the best roll ever with a peanut butter surprise in the middle. It’s really great for snacks when you want something that isn’t quite a meal, but is halfway in between. I recommend.
As for the whole social media thing, I don’t know what to say about that. If you want to help me become better at it, I welcome you! Until that happens, I remain confused. With baked goods in hand!
Stuffed Peanut Butter Rolls
Ingredients
1 tube refrigerated biscuits, any brand (I used Trader Joe's)
1 cup peanut butter
1 Hershey bar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350. Line an 8-inch square pan with foil and coat with cooking spray. Set aside.
- Open the refrigerated biscuits according to package directions. Peel them apart until you have 18 circles.
- Fill half with a tablespoon or two of peanut butter. Press the other half on top and seal the edges. Repeat the process with all nine rolls.
- If desired, press a single Hershey bar piece into the center of each roll.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the rolls are puffed up and golden. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Mir – I used to be addicted to checking Facebook, IG, and Twitter, but then I realized how silly it all was. In January, I went rogue and started doing all of things that I knew were better uses of my time. I’ve read eight books since January, some bigger than others (Hello, 700 pages of “The Goldfinch”). I also started my blog at the beginning of the year. Although I do use social media for the blog, I don’t find myself comparing myself to others or getting in a tizzy over passive aggressive comments. Instead, I use social media to find inspiration and to jaw drop at all of the amazing desserts and meals that people make, like these rolls for instance. Can I eat these with Moose Tracks ice cream?!

It’s amazing how many books you can read when you put the dang phone down, right? It’s kind of a shock, really. 🙂 I’m with you on the jaw-dropping food pics vs. actually taking people too seriously. And I LOVE the idea of eating with Moose Tracks! That would be some serious perfection.
Stuffed peanut butter rolls?! Amazing, Mir! I bet these taste so good! I love your creativity with these cuties!

I agree with you about social media, my husband is on no social media whatsoever and I think he’s much better off for it!
These rolls look delicious, I would love to try them!

Me, too, Heather. Stuffed crust pizza? Aw yeah. This? You bet!
Mir, did you know yesterday was National Buttermilk Biscuit Day? So this post is on point, yo. and re: social media. . I hear you. . it’s overwhelming. . I have a love/hate relationship with it. . I would still be on social media even if I didn’t have the blog but with the blog, it becomes more essential and that “have to do it” feeling. .which sucks. . I do love the taking a break thing and actually enjoying and spending time with friends and family and actually talking to each other. . don’t fret. just do what you are doing and what you are comfortable with. There are no rules when it comes to blogging and social media. . do it if you want to but don’t if you don’t . and in the meantime, EAT as many stuffed peanut butter rolls as possible. 🙂

It was?! Oh wow. I had no idea. I love being on point without trying, girlfriend!
And you have much wisdom. I try not to overthink it (and eat peanut butter rolls), so I’ll just keep going that route. It’ll all start to make sense someday, maybe?

Thanks, Sneha! It’s hard to find a balance if you’re on computers a lot. But I’m more naturally inclined to avoid it all, which makes me a bad blogger! 🙂
Love these rolls, very creative recipes Mir! And I hear you about social media, with blog it’s kind of a necessity which sucks!

So true, Manali. My thing is that I hate putting myself out there, but I know it’s totally necessary. Just have to keep getting used to it!
Social media takes so much of my time and this needs to change! And these rolls look amazing! PB stuffed? Need to make them!

Thanks, Mira! And yes, it takes a lot of time. How to even begin to solve that?
Oh my goodness, I am seriously horrible at social media! I would not be on it at all (with the exception of Pinterest of course cause it’s awesome!) if it wasn’t for the blog. And it’s SUCH a time suck! Oh well, necessary evil I suppose. I have no tips for you though because I’m generally very confused by it all! These rolls look like great!

I’m glad it’s not just me, Stacey! I swear, I will never understand FB. I really do not get it. Like, even simple things. But you’re right, Pinterest rocks. All the food drooly pics…
These look delicious! I was a big fan of potato rolls when I was little slathered in PB. Love the cute Hershey piece on top! 🙂

Mir these sound and looks so moist and soft. Love the added chocolate!! I agree about social media. I in fact get stuck in the moment with this darn stuff and sometimes I have to make myself unplug from it all. My hubby doesn’t do any social media at all. No fb, twitter or instagram. And he loves it that way. Happy Weekend!!

Chocolate and peanut butter is such an awesome and delicious combination! I used to be quite active on my personal Facebook, but nowadays I don’t want to post my personal things on them anymore, maybe one day I will deactivate it, but for now, I still need it for the FB page for my blog haha.

Mir, I am with you 100%! I am technologically incompetent. I have no idea how to even use most of the social media options. I use Facebook some and Pinterest is kind of cool, but who has time to tweet, G+, Instagram, and whatever else is out there? When does everyone work?
These peanut butter rolls are a much better use of time!
